Welcome Letter from Committee

Dear Friends,

It's official! The countdown to Summer 2019 has begun--the VVDC Camper Enrollment Packet is here!

We are excited to introduce Didi Levy as VVDC Camp Director for Summer 2019. Didi brings years of experience working with kids of all ages in schools, shuls and community organizations. You can get to know him better by reading his welcome letter.

We are thrilled that Chana Tuckman will be returning to VVDC as Assistant Director. We are looking forward to having her return for another summer.

Didi and Chana have hit the ground running, planning exciting activities and programs that will be sure to make Summer 2019 a summer to remember!!

We are excited to let you all know that Dganit Israel will be returning as Camp House director. We have missed her greatly and are excited to welcome her back to VVDC.

Please note, to ensure that the camp is being run both safely and in accordance with regulations, camp enrollment will be capped this summer. We will be happy to place your children on a waiting list if your completed registration materials arrive after we have reached our maximum capacity.

Below you will find links with more details about this year's fees and deadlines, as well as a few other changes that were made. This year, to make things more convenient for everyone, we have created an online registration form to be filled out for every camper. In this email you will find: Welcome Letter 2019, Letter of Intro's 2019, Camper Enrollment Contract 2019, Checklist 2019, and Medical Forms. We will share lunch information with you when it becomes available in the spring.

Please make sure to submit all necessary forms (enrollment contract and check for total $ amount can be submitted per family; permission slips, shirt size, and medical forms must be submitted per camper). For your convenience, we inserted a checklist to help you make sure you are submitting all proper tuition, auxiliary checks, and completed forms.

Checks & Medical Forms should be mailed to: Vacation Village Day Camp; PO Box 1014; Loch Sheldrake, NY 12759.

The energy is building! We are looking forward to an AMAZING summer together at Vacation Village Day Camp!

All the Best, VVDC Committee Bini Dachs, Shelley Newman, Barbara Smilow, and Esther Reznik Abramovitz Debby Stepelman – VVHOA Board Liaison

Welcome Letter from Didi Levy & Chana Tuckman

Dear VVDC Families!

My name is Didi Levy and I'm excited to introduce myself as the 2019 director at VV DC! I'm thrilled to be joining an excellent team and community, dedicated to planning an amazing summer. We look forward to making "the VVDC experience" the very best it can be for our campers, staff members, & families.

I spent two years studying in Yeshivat Har Etzion, followed by army service in the IDF's Golani Brigade. After my army service, I completed my BA in psychology and tanach at Bar Ilan University. I've spent last few summers directing summer camps. I am currently pursuing a doctorate in clinical psychology at LIU Post and am the founder of the West Hempstead Hockey Clinic.

This summer we hope to continue the camp's tradition of offering diverse programming and a rich camp experience. We will be bringing back amazing weekly trips and events, like Splashdown Waterpark, Color War and inter-camps. I look forward to the integration of new trips, activities, and programming. Prepare yourselves for a summer of surprise water fights, dynamic specialty activities, and adventure!

Our team understands that summer camp is a critical component in the development of our Jewish youth. We are dedicated and humbled by the mission to create and manifest a transcendent and exhilarating camp experience.

As director, I understand that one of the fundamental ingredients in generating an excellent camp experience is contingent on putting together, motivating, and leading a team of staff members. I take the role of team leader very seriously and I look forward to the magic that can unlocked with a cohesive staff. We are currently interviewing for counselors and specialists. Please share our staff application with those that you think can contribute meaningfully to our team.

I will be working hard to ensure this summer is both exceptionally safe and fun! Please do not hesitate to reach to me with any questions or suggestions! I look forward to meeting all of you soon!

Warmly,
Yedidya (Didi) Levy
VVDC Director and Head Counselor

Welcome Letter from Dganit Israel

Dear Parents,

My name is Dganit Israel, and I will be the Early Childhood Camphouse Director this summer at Vacation Village. I'm very excited to come back for another great summer!

During the year, I serve as a Judaic Studies 1st grade teacher in Yeshiva Har Torah, located in Queens, NY. I will be using my years of teaching experience this summer to run the Camp House and perform administrative duties, ensuring that your child receives the best summer experience possible. Our program will include a number of exciting activities, such as swimming, arts, and crafts, cooking, baking, science, creative movement, story time, & camp sports activities. Additionally, I would love to invite you all to our special Shabbat parties at camp, where campers will enjoy baking their own challahs, learning to sing beautiful Shabbat songs, and receiving a turn to be the Shabbat abba or Shabbat ema.

I am looking forward to the most fun and enjoyable summer with your children. If you have any questions, please call the camp office at (845)-436-8359, text me at (516)-301-8497, or email meat kosherdaycamp@gmail.com.

Sincerely yours, Dganit
